Returns Policy
Last updated 11 September 2026
Venav-e supplies Centurion Systems gate and access automation equipment. This policy explains when goods can be returned, and sets out the rights you have under South African law. Nothing here limits those rights.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
If equipment arrives damaged, is not what you ordered, or the quantity is short, tell us within 7 days of delivery or collection. Visible transit damage should also be noted on the waybill at the time of receipt, which makes a claim against the courier far easier.
We will arrange collection, repair, replacement or a refund at no cost to you. You do not pay return carriage on goods that were faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act
For six months after delivery, section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act entitles you to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose. You choose whether you want a repair, a replacement or a refund — that choice is yours, not ours.
This applies whether or not a manufacturer’s warranty is in place, and it applies in addition to that warranty rather than instead of it.
Manufacturer’s warranty
Centurion Systems equipment carries the manufacturer’s own warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from date of purchase. Warranty terms vary by product line — the documentation supplied with the unit governs, and we will help you claim under it.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by incorrect installation, or installation not carried out to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Lightning, power surges, water ingress, or damage from an inadequate or incorrect power supply.
- Fair wear and tear on consumable parts such as batteries, gearbox oil and drive components.
- Equipment that has been modified, tampered with, or repaired by a third party.
- Damage from use outside the product’s rated gate mass, duty cycle or operating conditions.
Online orders: your 7-day cooling-off right
Where you buy online as a consumer, section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act gives you 7 days from delivery to cancel, without giving a reason and without penalty. Return the goods unused and in their original packaging and we will refund the purchase price. You carry the cost of returning them.
This right applies to consumers buying online. It does not apply to business-to-business purchases, including orders placed on a trade account.
Change of mind
Outside the statutory cooling-off period we do not accept returns simply because an item is no longer wanted. Please check compatibility — particularly gate mass, duty cycle and operating voltage — before ordering. If you are unsure which unit suits your installation, contact us before you buy and we will help you specify it.
Special-order and non-stock items
Items brought in specifically for your order and not normally held in stock cannot be returned for change of mind. Your statutory rights in respect of defective goods are unaffected.
How to start a return
Email info@venbeck.co.za or call 015 308 0000 with your order number, the SKU, and a short description of the problem. Photographs of the fault or the damaged packaging speed things up considerably. We will confirm the return and tell you how to send the goods back before you ship anything.
Refunds are made to the original payment method. Orders placed on a trade account are credited to that account.
