Our Story

Venav-e is part of Venbeck, a family business that has traded from Tzaneen in Limpopo since 1992.

Venbeck was founded by the late Hannes Venter Senior. He had been a branch manager for Tongaat Milling, and when the local depot closed he chose to stay in the region rather than move on — registering Venbeck and trading independently, at first in maize meal alone. In 1996 the acquisition of RSA Tobacco Industries widened the range to sweets, chocolates, packaging and tobacco, and in 1998 he bought out his partner.

His daughter Rachelle joined in 1999 and his son in 2001. What began as a single-product distributor grew into a diversified wholesaler: a butchery in 2015, a superette and filling station in Phalaborwa in 2019, and in 2020 the Venbeck Café with the Beckatto Deli and a filling station in Tzaneen.

Gate and access automation

We have been a Centurion Systems distributor since 2016. Venav-e is the arm of the business built around that range — sliding and swing gate operators, garage door openers, controllers, receivers, remotes and the spares that keep them running.

The name says what it does: Venbeck, Automation, Vision, Equipment.

Much of what we sell goes to installers and contractors who know exactly which unit they need, so the site is built around getting it to them quickly: the full range, live stock, account pricing, and delivery anywhere in South Africa. If you are not sure which operator suits a gate, tell us its mass, its length and roughly how many times a day it will cycle, and we will tell you.

More than a website

This is a counter you can walk up to, not only a catalogue you can order from. We do counter sales in Tzaneen, and we repair and service Centurion equipment — so if an operator has stopped working, it does not automatically mean buying a new one. Bring it in, or call us and we will tell you whether it is worth repairing.

Still in Tzaneen

More than thirty years on, the business is still run by the same family, from the same town. Orders leave our Tzaneen warehouse and are couriered nationally — but there is a real warehouse, a real counter, and a real person on the end of the phone. We would rather help you specify a job correctly than process a return.
